Garbage disposal repair in Rosemead
A disposer that hums but won't spin, clicks off, or leaves a puddle in the cabinet can often be fixed in place. Send a photo of the unit and its label to (310) 628-9399.
Humming and jammed
A hum with no spin means the motor has power but the plate is stuck, usually on a fruit pit, a bottle cap or a bit of bone. With the power off, the plate can be turned from below with a hex key.
If the unit keeps tripping its reset button after the jam is cleared, the motor may be worn out. At that point we quote a like-for-like replacement on the same mount.
Leaks from a disposer
Where the water shows up tells you the cause. Dripping at the top means the sink flange has loosened or its putty has dried. Dripping at the side points at the dishwasher hose or the drain elbow.
Water seeping from the bottom of the housing means the seals inside have failed, and the unit needs replacing.
Kitchens added on to older houses
Many Rosemead kitchens predate disposers by decades; the city's median home was built in 1959. Units added later sometimes hang on a drain arm set too low or share an outlet with the dishwasher.
We check the drain height and the connection to the trap.

Rosemead customers often ask
Can I use the disposer while it is leaking?
Better not. Turn it off and keep a pan underneath until the source is found.
Do you install a new unit if mine is done?
Yes, a like-for-like replacement on the existing mount and wiring.
