Sink and tub clogs in Rosemead
Standing water in the tub after a shower, or a sink that empties in slow motion, is usually a local clog close to the fixture. Text us what you see at (310) 628-9399.
Where the clog usually is
Bathroom clogs form close to the drain opening. Hair and soap wrap around the stopper rod or settle in the trap, and the water slows down week by week.
In a tub, the overflow plate hides a linkage that can trap hair as well. We pull the stopper and the linkage before reaching for a cable.
Hand tools, not harsh chemicals
We clear these clogs with a drain cable and by taking the trap apart where it can be reached. Pouring caustic cleaner into a slow drain can leave a pool of chemicals for the next person who opens the pipe.
Foaming cleaners like the one in the photo can freshen a kitchen drain, but they rarely move a real blockage.
When it is more than one drain
If several fixtures back up at once, or water rises in the tub when the toilet flushes, the clog is in the main line. We root that with a powered machine; see drain rooting.
Once the main is clear, we can still handle the stopper, trap or faucet work in the bathroom.
Rosemead customers often ask
Do you use chemical drain openers?
No. We clear sink and tub clogs mechanically, at the stopper, the trap or with a hand cable.
What if my kitchen sink is the slow one?
Kitchen traps and the drain arm behind the cabinet are within reach, and we clear those too.
